Because I'm sick of you twisting high ideals into a reason for violence and rebellion when it's not like that at all, you don't always have to be angry at the world. And because I'm scared of what you'd do if it all played out and you lost. I hate hearing other people hate you and I hate wondering what happened to the guy I knew at Welton, who convinced me to do his Latin homework for him and helped me break out of my shell a bit.

Those are all good reasons, at least.

Look, I hate explaining this shit, but I figure you guys deserve it. You know what life was before this? Settling. Settling for everything, for Welton and for our fathers' jobs and even for the society. I refuse to settle anymore. And, yes, I do have to be angry at the world, because it's wrong. I'm fixing what's broken, alright? We can read poetry and talk about change all we want, but why settle for dreaming when you can have the world at your feet. This is bigger than Welton, and it requires growing up. Sorry if you can't deal with it. I appreciate the sentiment.
