It's the year 2136. No one knows who shot off the first bomb, but it was clear within a year of biological and nuclear warfare that scientists, the ones less concerned with politics and more concerned with the state of the earth had to do something. They tried numerous ideas until Walter J. Zanski produced the idea of a dome, one neutral to the world's problems and capable of securing the future of humanity. While the war went on, the dome would protect the futures of many. They could stay inside until the earth was no longer radioactive and destroying itself. That was a hundred years ago. In the past hundred years, no one's left the dome, but it did not work as well as planned. Many men perished in the greatest war the world ever faced and their children grew up. But not many people came in their places, and population seemed impossible. Zanski's grandson, Theodore, undertook the great task of building a way to fix the problems in the dome world, which has now taken on the name Babylon. After very little success, he found a way to cut through dimensions and it was through this that he brought in the first person. This person revealed herself as being a member of a Jane Austen novel. Theodore was confused as to what he should do with her, but he soon realized the potential of this. If he could bring in these people, designed to mingle and interact, he could help populate the earth. And maybe, in the process, he could bring over someone that could cure the problems of his world. It was genius. They set up the Divine Portal Initiative within weeks, setting up the emptied homes and making it so that these new citizens would have jobs. There was one problem to Zanski's plan: he couldn't control who he brought over, and what that someone would do when they found out they couldn't return to their world. In Desolution is an AU panfandom game set in a futuristic setting. |
1. The obvious rule should really go first: have fun, don't cause drama, try to make this an enjoyable experience. This is kind of a crack game with a serious outline, but having fun will always be a first priority. You're not having fun, it's becoming too serious, and everyone else will worry! 2. Nothing stupid. No controlling someone else's characters, no godmoding, no forced shipping (as in, don't force a relationship on people), no powerplaying, so on and so forth. Everything that's bad in role-playing is not cool here. 3. Activity. We'll be checking once a month through tags for character posts. You get three tries. First time, we probably won't poke you, second is a warning, and third, you're probably needing to drop the character for someone else to pick up. Excessive comments/logs/threads/etc. can take place of individual entries. 4. There is no current character limit. However, if you pick up a character, you have to play them at least a fortnight (two weeks) before giving them up. If during that two week period you find you've already lost the voice and never posted/commented once, that's cool. We just want to make sure there aren't any two-day characters. 5. Following the same line of characters, you can pick up someone from anywhere in their canon, as long as you specify. However, there will not be two Harry Potters running around from the same series, but you can have two Cloud Strifes—one from KH and one from Final Fantasy. 6. There is no limit between picking up characters at this time, but this rule may be changed as seen fit. |
