I like this place more and more, with a couple of exceptions, but the angel isn't here and I am bored beyond all belief.

I just have to keep telling myself; it's ineffable. It's part of the Bigger Picture. Complicated game of solitaire, right? It'll all work out the way it's sposed to work out, which involves me coming out pretty much on top, so it's fine. Drink a lot of wine and enjoy everyone fighting. Least the babies are in the other apartment block now. I've never liked babies, not since the thing with the antichrist.

You'd think that without parental control, so to speak, I'd actually start living my own life with a touch more pizazz.

All right, I can't say I'm too surprised but you'd think there'd be a little more in the way of religious organisation. 'Course, everything's run by scientists — completely stupid scientists at that — but what happened to groups of terrified vigilantes, upholding righteous justice in the name of a god they no longer believe in? That sort of thing'd be more fitting for the end of the world, I think. Dystopia, eh?

The strength in our religion comes in times like these. When no one cares, or no one remembers, the few of us who do bind together for a simple cause. When everyone's struggling to survive, it seems to take a back seat for others. The light shines brightest in the dark, after all.

What kind of vigilantes, now?

A few is still a few.

Then there is opportunity. There are those of us who work with what we have, whether it be something bright or something dim.
