I hung up my drawings today. I had been meaning to, but I wanted to cover the walls all at once. They were gathering in a troublesome pile, though, so I decided to do it today. Most of the walls in my room are covered now, and I think I may piece together small drawings of stars in the night sky to cover my ceiling. I didn't realize how much I missed them until recently, so I think it would be nice.

I think I'm going to take a walk before I go to the art store.

Are you an artist? What kind of drawings do you do?

I am.

What kind? Hmm... I draw everything, but I usually draw people, and sometimes places. Lately, I've been drawing objects from different perspectives and under different kinds of light. It's a nice change of pace.

I've never met an artist before. I'd like to see some of your drawings sometime.

My name's Lyra. It's nice to meet you, Naminé. Do you go to school too? What kind of world are you from?

Lyra, like the constellation. That's very pretty.

I do go to school. I'm not very good at most of the subjects, but they're very interesting. I think it's fun. I hadn't been to a school before going to this one.

My world... that's a difficult question. I lived in a castle for most of my life.

You know about the stars!

I go to school too, a lot of the stuff they teach there is boring, though. It's not anything I want to know. It's a lot different from where I come from.

A castle? Are you a princess?

Some of them.

Really? What kind of things did you learn at your school?

Oh, no. Not me. But I was kept there for a long time. I didn't get to see the outside all that much.

All kinds of things. Philosophy, celestial geography, and experimental theology. I was learning how to read a special instrument that was given to me when I left – and there are no books on it here. All the subjects like math and science here are so dry. There's no stories about them.

I don't like the sound of that. Did you ever want to break out? Be free? Go on an adventure?

I understand what you mean. Those things sound difficult to learn.

I did break out. Someone helped me. But even after I escaped, I was still trapped. I was still being used.

Being used?

My power. They made me use it to hurt someone. A friend of mine.

What kind of power?

I changed his memories.

You can do something like that? That's amazing.

I can only change his memories, and the memories of the people who know him.

I suppose it is. But I would never do it again.

Yeah, I can see why you wouldn't. If they come back and take you again, I'll come get you.

I don't think they will. They don't have a need for me anymore. But, thank you.

I had people like that in my world too. They wanted to tell everyone what to do and how to live.

I have to be. It's not like I wasn't scared, either. I was scared lots of times, but a dear friend of mine told me that when he feared something, he conquered that fear. I keep words like that close to my heart, it makes it easier.
