It's White Day today.
It has been a month since we last saw any form of violence, and a little less than that since Rokudou Mukuro was released from prison. The occurrences around these events alarmed many people, and I cannot say I was excluded from these numbers. A month has passed and we have been asked to hand over our abilities so they can be listed for all the authorities to see. I'm uncomfortable with this method, but I understand. There are people who are uneasy with this approach, believing that it will give them the advantage to use the abilities of these people against them. It is not unlike what happened back at home, but with a different guise and a different mask. But they claim they do not intend to use these lists to their advantage.
It seems unlikely that this will be the case. We find ourselves flooded with worry. Even those of us who are "normal" are struggling for air, attempting to reach out for some indication that things will not change—but it seems that they might. There is the continued worry that we'll choke on this water, choke and drown or we will be just as dangerous. Am I really so different from them? With my fighting abilities, I was able to handle Rokudou Mukuro when he attempted to use his trident against me. Am I really so different?
This calls to the question of who is a demon and who is a human, and if there is a difference between the two, where does it lie? Has it ever existed?
It is a question I cannot help but ponder, but on this day, I should only think of Aya and hope that she does not mind the gift I acquired for her. She would have likely preferred it from Kabane, and I wouldn't be surprised if she did receive a gift from him. I can only do my part as her friend, and do my best to stifle my jealousy in the process.
