Four: Thoughts

Even when I see terrible things happening in the world, as soon as I look at a baby's face; I feel like there's a little more hope for the world. Then I wonder what kind of person that they'll turn out to be, and what kind of change that they'll make. I guess I can't judge what the government was thinking when they appointed children to strangers, but it'll feel nice to see a face like that. In a world like this, I think it's one of the only things that might keep us going. I think of all the places that we have to be, and all the places that we came from; and there's an urgency to get away from this foreign place. Even for the people who didn't want this, and to the parents who were forced into it, it's something that we have to deal with. It makes this place a little less lonely.

I don't get a baby for another week, but I'm not worried — Peter says he can look after it, and I'll bet he's really good with children.

My club's doing fine, don't worry about us! It's not a gang or anything, don't listen to what some people are saying, Azula's kid brother likes to stir up trouble. Ayanami's in the club too! It's nice to have friends to do stuff with, don't you think?

I'm glad you have such a responsible roommate.

I wanted to see how it was going. I know you didn't do anything like that in school in Tokyo 3, but it wasn't like there was much time for that. Just as long as you get to enjoy your life as a teenager.
