Catwoman: Movie Critic!

And I thought the rooftops back home were crowded.

So I watched a little film called Batman Begins (can barely type that with a straight face) this weekend.  I'd promised to give my opinion as something of an expert on the subject matter, and so...

It was weird.  Not bad, but not... right.  But not really wrong, either.  I mean, Christian Bale doesn't really look like Bruce (but he looks like Christian Bale, so not complaining.)  The villains were a bit watered down, especially Crane who so shouldn't ever be cast as someone that pretty.  Ugh.  And they kept saying Ra's wrong.  But they kind of got the feel of the grit of Gotham, at least a little.  And the drive and the demons?  That's definitely a part of Batman.

So thanks for the loan, Andrew, but I think I'll pass on watching any more.  Because Bruce is a... dear friend even if I didn't know him when he was that young, and it's disconcerting enough.  I know there's some Superman films and all sorts of funtime secret identity info on the Internet.  And while I sure as hell don't owe the alien or the fucking JLA anything, it still... it makes my world seem just a bit too much like it really could be fictional, if that makes sense.

Well that was a lot more introspective than I was expecting.  So, does this place have a gym or something?  With a nice strong punching bag?

Thanks again for the scrip.  Um, can you get me something for the shiny new morning sickness?  Of mutual benefit, I'd say.

The drugs do help with the nightmares, thank God.

Color me shocked that no one's asked The Question yet.  I owe myself some amount of money.

There's a few nondrug remedies I'm more fond of than shoveling prescriptions into the mouths of pregnant women, so we'll try those out first. Also, ew.
giantego: (THAT'S SUPER INTERESTING.)

Not in the hospital! But when it's living in our own houses, yes. We say it loudly and proudly and often.

I've had enough of those to last me a lifetime, thanks.

I'm just the luckiest man in Babylon, aren't I?

Okay! I'm sorry it was weird for you. And trust me, Tim Burton is awesome but Begins is pretty much the best of the Batman films out there, I think.

Uhhh he directed the Batman film with um. You in it. (As played by Michelle Pfeiffer!) It wasn't that good.

Yeah, you're prettier than that. And later they used Uma Thurman for Poison Ivy, which was super weird. DC kind of got the short end of the stick on adaptions.

George Clooney was a good Bruce... in a really bad film. I'm gonna stop now, it's probably a bad idea to torment pregnant ladies, especially ones who can rip me into pieces.

If you don't mind a little wear and tear, there's a warehouse with some old mattresses and equipment people use for training sometimes. Dunno about an actual gym, that's getting a little fancy.

I'm a Slayer, so it's strength, speed, healing; the works. Nothing X-Men though.

About ten? I'm not really counting, but the Slayers are just me and B. So, yeah, exactly along those lines.

Sweet. I'm Faith, I look forward to kicking your ass.

Where's this warehouse? I need a place to train and focus my energies

Out in the deadlands, between our part of town and the non-ficcies. It's really nothing official, mostly if you run into anyone out there it's a good chance to go mano el mano, y'know? You want energy focus, though, you should go talk to Vilma Fachiri.

[identity profile] wizardresden.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like my kinda place. I have no idea who Vilma Fachiri is, but I'll look them up, thanks. Nice to meet you.
