A pet is a big responsibility, Shawn. I'm not sure you're ready.

What are you, Dana, my father?
Please say no. I don't want him here.

... I wasn't sure how to bring it up, but ...
I'm surprised the spirits didn't tell you this was coming.

I was actually thinking about getting a dog, but I was afraid my old roommate would eat it.

Oh, I was actually talking about me and Gus.
But hey, a dog! I always wanted one of those when I was growing up. Not to eat, but to love and play with. Also, I'm an expert doghouse-builder.

How do you get to be an expert doghouse-builder without ever actually having a dog?

My father being a crazy person has something to do with it.

Thank you, I won't.
So what are we gonna name the little guy? How do you feel about Chase Ripper McGoohan IV?

I think that might be a mouthful to yell when he pees on the carpet.

Um, obviously. I'm just waiting for Gus. He's... lint-rolling or something, I don't know.

No.
You'll be interested in it for about a week, and then I'll get stuck with all the feeding and cleaning and walking.
Anyway, I have allergies.

I was putting my allergies aside for the sake of the
case
, Shawn. A week longer, and my respiratory system might have come under duress.
Severe
duress.
And I do not miss him. That cat was a nuisance.

Gus, don't be a dirty litterbox! That cat was great.
But fine, how about a dog? He can be friends with Chase Ripper McGoohan IV.

That cat had it in for me. A man can tell.
...Shawn, that doesn't even sound like a real name.

Gus, do you realize how ridiculous it is that you're threatened by a little boycat?
It's what Buffy and I are calling the Summers-Spencer puppy.

The domesticated house cat is descended from large, bloodthirsty, man-eating felines, Shawn. Don't think they've forgotten that.
Oh. Well, if you've already got one puppy, then you don't need another pet, do you?

The most threatening thing he did was pee on that woman's dry-cleaning!
You don't want a Guster-Spencer puppy?
