And man it's got to suck wanting something and not being able to tell people what. I'm so glad I was built knowing how to talk from the get-go.

No upgrade! But they've been making robots for a couple centuries in my world, so they've had a lot of time to figure everything out.

Well, I miss reading about my world's infinitely superior plasma weaponry, but beggars can't be choosers.

Yeah magazines are pretty lacking around here but there's a decent collection of science journals (not that you can get your hands on all of 'em, probably the stuff relevant to the portal tech). There's probably some journals on defense and munitions and shit if you're hardcore into it.
