The universe is a big door...
So I’m a character. On a TV show. That’s what they tell me, anyway. Does that mean when the cameras weren’t rolling, I didn’t exist? What about the actor who played me? He has to be long dead, yet here I am. Funny how the universe lets things fall into place like that.
This apartment isn’t bad, but I miss my house, my friends, my car. However, one door closing means another one opening, so I open the door to new friends and embrace them. Hi there! My name is Charlie. Charlie Crews. Detective, LAPD. Guess there is no more LAPD though, what is it here, the BPD?
Also, anyone know where can I get some fresh fruit?

Mr. Crews, my name is Ky Kiske, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm the current Chief of, yes, the BPD. We've been going through troubling times, and any further applicants would be of help to us.
As far as fresh fruit, I can't say that I find any of the food here too appetizing.

You care about what the creators of our "show" would want?

There's nothing I want to think about. And not in the zen sense.

This place is turning into law enforcement central.

Looks like. Are you enticed to do what all the cool kids are doing?

You mean me work for law enforcement? That would quite possibly be more bizzare than getting sucked into Portalville in the first place.

Perhaps you'd like to join some kung-fu classes.

And I think I'd like to join some kung-fu classes. The martial arts always help with clarity and focus of mind and body.

Why don't you come by the training hall? I teach many different styles of kung-fu.
