five!

Today I reinforced the tunnel! It's getting big, even though I haven't found anything besides rocks yet!

But this has made me wonder- where are the animals of this place? I remember that sometimes when I helped Simon dig we would find them. They were outside back on the other Earth too. I see dogs and cats occasionally, but nothing else.

I wonder what happened to them all.

I wonder about that too! Especially the frogs!!

[identity profile] perkyscience.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Frogs are amphibians! They live on both water and land! Well, when they're just little tadpoles, they swim around in the water, and then they grow legs, and can move to land! They look like this (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/08/images/070830-poison-frog.jpg)!

I tried looking for them, but I haven't found any! It's very strange, because even though some of them are toxic and dangerous, frogs are actually very important! Not only are they used for food, but some frog skins can even heal burns and cure certain diseases!

Uh, I'm gonna hazard a guess and say the nuclear apocalypse did it.

[identity profile] robotsexual.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah but if there aren't a lot of them they'd sort of be like a precious commodity right? They're probably just concentrated in one area since I bet there are more scientists than farmers around here.

Besides I think the fast food chains perfected the art of manufactured food long before Babylon could've hoped to bring that milkshake to the yard.

[identity profile] robotsexual.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Ask 'em.

A fast food chain is a revolutionary system covering all the land in my reality which slaughters animals en masse and provides its people with the deep-fried remains of their carcasses at obscenely low prices. It's better than regular meat 'cause it comes with the added promise of high blood pressure, stroke and death. Good god what I wouldn't give for a Big Mac right now.

Look the point is that you can't trust your tastebuds to tell you whether you're eating real food, sweetheart.

The lack of flora and fauna is disturbing. Perhaps in the way that I remember it from my world. It's one of the outcomes of war. We should get some plants for our apartment.

Oh yes, and may I see your tunnel? Maybe I can help.

[identity profile] crusaded.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I see, so you've been through a war as well, Miss Nia?

I'd be happy to explain to you what that means. Perhaps we can have a talk over dinner.

[identity profile] crusaded.livejournal.com 2007-12-01 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
I would like to hear about it. I look forward to it.

[identity profile] asinlessera.livejournal.com 2007-12-01 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
It is mostly dogs and cats, isn't it? Ah, but they're so cute ...

[identity profile] asinlessera.livejournal.com 2007-12-01 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose they didn't survive ...

[identity profile] asinlessera.livejournal.com 2007-12-01 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's like that man up there said ...!
