So here's the deal, I know robots. It's what I do. I don't mean the kind that vacuum under your couch for you either, we are talking humanoid AI. And I think it's been pretty well established that you never know what wacky hijinks Babylon's got in store or more importantly when it's going to involve being torn limb from limb, whether those be made of bone or metal or some combination of the two. The meatbags already have the hospital and Cox to take care of them but I've been thinking I could be of some help to the more mechanically structured.

You may be thinking this is all fine and good and you'll just come around if the need arises but keep in mind that it'll be harder to figure out how you were put together if the original parts have been crushed into unrecognizability. I'd probably figure it out eventually but things could get a little experimental and it would take longer. You'd probably be better off seeing me before that happens so I can get some blueprints drawn up and figure out the parts I'd need or even just how I'd go about repairing the ones you've already got.

You know, I'm beginning to just love the CTRL+F function. I search for my name, read the surrounding five words to see if it's positive or negative, and then close the window. So I can't be bothered to read the rest of this nerd babble, but Babylon General thanks you for the plug and now I'm going to go tell all of my coworkers that Nerdtron 5000 thinks we're doing just a bang-up job! We'll erect a monument in your honor and YES, I know that I just said erect, keep your giggling to yourself and spare me the LOLs.

Are you offering to provide this service to the robotic community out of benevolence, Mr. Mears?
giantego: (I'LL THINK ABOUT IT.)

[personal profile] giantego 2008-05-29 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Our morale's low. We take what we can get.
magicbone: (so what difference does it make?)

[personal profile] magicbone 2008-05-29 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Warren middlename Mears, R.D.?

[identity profile] scienceexplains.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose I could be willing to believe that. Still, I would hardly volunteer to have you examine my internal structure. The power to heal and the power to destroy are two sides of the same coin.

Then again, I'm not a robot.
magicbone: (but i'm still fond of you)

[personal profile] magicbone 2008-05-29 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
come on, nothing's worse than um what essentially amounts to Passover.

[identity profile] scienceexplains.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, Mr. Mears. I misjudged you.

I thought you'd be all over that "internal structure" remark.

You're not the only one!

[identity profile] scienceexplains.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
It was meant as a gift. I realized I hadn't gotten you anything for Christmas.

[identity profile] hardlywired.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
I would be willing to provide programming assistance. I have little to do at the moment and also have what you might call an academic interest in A.I.
magicbone: (because i've only got two hands)

[personal profile] magicbone 2008-05-29 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
is yours more or less retarded?

[identity profile] scienceexplains.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
No doubt.

Have you been speaking with my roommate?

[identity profile] copier.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
It's a little tempting, but I'm morally opposed to letting people poke around my circuits unless there's no other option. Nothing personal!
