As citizens have noted on these journals, many were appalled by the involvement of students during the attacks that occurred last month. Even more disturbing was the public behavior of Babylon's students when the water was contaminated this past week. As it stands, such obscene and violent displays only produce the image that students have no respect for a sense of order and discipline.

This is going to change.

Because of such unsightly behavior by the school's students, my colleagues and I have approached the educational branch of the Babylon's development and requested several changes to be made. The first of these changes is the implementation of school uniforms. The reason for this first change is simple. A uniform allows students to display their status as educated minors with a sense of dignity. Furthermore, by adhering to the same dress code, students are ensured that any bad behavior will allow witnesses to identify them. Therefore, when you disgrace yourself, you're also smearing the name of our school. I think you'll find that crime has far more severe consequences.

    Junior and High School Students-
    The uniforms you will receive will include;
    - Dress shirt.
    - Blazer w/ embroidered school emblem.
    - Vest w/ embroidered school emblem.
    - Necktie.
    - Dress pants (male students only)
    - Pleated plaid skirt (female students only)
    - Socks pack (2 white, 2 black)
    - Loafers.
    - Tennis Shoes.*
    - Athletic T-Shirt.*
    - Athletic Shorts.*
The Junior and High School girl's uniform can be seen here. The Junior and High School boy's uniform can be seen here. All pieces of the above are required on a daily basis. Neckties are required. *Tennis shoes, athletic shirts and shorts are only allowed for after school athletics or Physical Education class.

    Elementary Students-
    The uniforms you will receive will include;
    - Dress shirt.
    - Blazer w/ embroidered school emblem.
    - Beret w/ embroidered school emblem, Student ID.
    - Dress shorts (male students only)
    - Pleated skirt (female students only)
    - Socks pack (2 white, 2 black)
    - Loafers.
    - Tennis Shoes.*
    - Athletic T-Shirt.*
    - Athletic Shorts.*
The Elementary students uniform can be seen here. All pieces of the above are required on a daily basis. Berets are required. *Tennis shoes, athletic shirts and shorts are only allowed for after school athletics or Physical Education class.

Students sizes were taken upon their arrival in Babylon, however, if the Discipline Committee sees any mis-measurement or altering in students' uniforms, they will be replaced. Students are also responsible for keeping their uniforms in clean and pressed conditions. Shoes must be shined. Altering or defacing the uniforms is punishable.

The uniforms will be delivered to students' place of residence over the weekend. During the next school week and onwards, any student found not wearing the uniform on school grounds will be subject to punishment by the Discipline Committee. Teachers and school staff do not have the authority to exert detentions or demerits for these infractions. They are to report such dress code violations to their class Discipline Committee representative. Discipline Committee members can be identified by their armbands. Any school employee found infringing on this committee's practice can be subject to a board of review.

Uniforms are required starting Monday, May 5.

Do you actually think this is going to stop people from getting violent?

I can't say I understand the connection between chemicals in the water and school uniforms, let alone what knee socks might have to do with last month's riots.

That's not really an acceptable sort of question.

Yep, I don't really mind. Dunno about some of the other people... Not that it matters what we think, I guess.

I don't understand what uniforms have to do with what they put in the water. Wasn't that what the government did, anyway?

Um... would it still be okay for me to wear my lab coat over my uniform?

Yeah... I guess they just wanna make some kind of controlled environment? Dunno how that'd help, though.

Just sounds like another way for someone to control other people. School en't so much about learning here, is it?

I guess that's why we had to wear uniforms in the first place. At least, in my school.

Yeah, all that "getting you in the right mindset" stuff... least at Iwatodai, they let us change our uniforms in little ways.

At Todou, at least, we were able to change our socks... At least I can still wear my hair how I want.

Yeah, I used to wear a different shirt and Yuka-tan

Wait a sec.

I wonder if I can still wear my hat.

Oh no...!

I mean, it's a hat. It's... it's not altering the uniform or anything. Iwatodai was fine with it. It's like, a part of my image, man. More like, it's a part of my head.

Maybe if you ask nicely... They have to say yes, right? Especially if it's important to you.
