I've been thinking about the pet coupons that the government gives to us on arrival. While I myself have never had a pet, I knew a girl in my world who, by all appearances, considered her dog to be her best friend. All of the times that I observed her, she seemed very happy, much more so than her companions. And yet, when her dog was killed, she was rendered completely useless due to the grief. It makes me curious if the experience of owning a pet usually elicits such extreme emotional responses. And precisely why the government would wish that for its residents.
Gabriel-san, would you mind if I got a puppy? I will handle all of the care requirements. I think I would like to name him or her Beast.
