I really don't see the point of using this ridiculous contraption, but since the baby is asleep and my flatmate is hopefully unconscious, I decided I may as well acquaint myself with the communication system.

I don't really socialize much with the rest of the community.

People have managed to communicate with one another for hundreds of years, either by letter or in person. This seems to eliminate the need for both, and it's incredibly impersonal.

I see, why use these when you can do that, or even call someone on the phone? I'm from the generation that put increased importance on these. I guess you can blame us for this.

It's technological advancement, I suppose. I'm from well over three-hundred years ago, so this is jumping extremes, for me. I have had time to adjust, but I still find it absurd that people would rather listen to portable music than listen to the sound around them.
