It's been almost six moons now; half a harvest cycle. Still no-one I know has arrived. No woman and no prophet. Somewhere, I have a child; here, I have nothing. The people are so different, but at the heart of things they are the same easily-manipulated fools who populated my own world. Still, I hesitate to... do more than watch.

The charm had been silent for so long, I thought its magic did not work here. But yesterday, it spoke. It told me the cycle has been broken. I don't believe that's true. There will always be a cycle, and now that I am Igrot I must find someone to take my old place and suffer at my hands. That is the way of things.

No-one here knows who I am, though they all seem to know each other. Perhaps this new beginning, this blank parchment can be used to my advantage.

My courses are going well; the Dome is actually a very fascinating construction, even if my work is mostly menial. The feast of Thanks Giving was also interesting, especially the odd food stuffs. Icecream is indeed a food fit for kings and satraps, though it seems to be in abundance here. I do not know how a refrigerator imitates the natural fall of snow on a mountain, but it is a fascinating device. How do you know if the light goes off when you close the door?

Having a room-mate's not that bad, especially such an attractive and cheerful girl. Even if she does tend to leave machinery all over the apartment. Sa only knows what it's for.

I don't mean to! There's just not much space left in my room for it all to go so it kinda... Overflows? Heh. I'll try to be a little neater!

And the light in the fridge... There's a little switch! I can show it to you. But when you close the door, the door pushes on the switch and turns off the light. That way the light doesn't burn out so fast being on all the time!

HOPEFULLY they'll make a transporter back home but I don't have all the kinks worked out just yet.

Isn't it! People invent the craziest things.

You're building a transporter? Sorry to but in, but I'm a mechanic and would love to help out on a new project.

I'm Kaylee by the way.

Ooooh, you work with machina, too?! It's not much yet, just a big mess of wires and stuff. I'm gonna go check out the Science Department and see if I can get a look at the machina they used on us to get a few ideas. Wish me luck?
