It's been almost six moons now; half a harvest cycle. Still no-one I know has arrived. No woman and no prophet. Somewhere, I have a child; here, I have nothing. The people are so different, but at the heart of things they are the same easily-manipulated fools who populated my own world. Still, I hesitate to... do more than watch.

The charm had been silent for so long, I thought its magic did not work here. But yesterday, it spoke. It told me the cycle has been broken. I don't believe that's true. There will always be a cycle, and now that I am Igrot I must find someone to take my old place and suffer at my hands. That is the way of things.

No-one here knows who I am, though they all seem to know each other. Perhaps this new beginning, this blank parchment can be used to my advantage.

My courses are going well; the Dome is actually a very fascinating construction, even if my work is mostly menial. The feast of Thanks Giving was also interesting, especially the odd food stuffs. Icecream is indeed a food fit for kings and satraps, though it seems to be in abundance here. I do not know how a refrigerator imitates the natural fall of snow on a mountain, but it is a fascinating device. How do you know if the light goes off when you close the door?

Having a room-mate's not that bad, especially such an attractive and cheerful girl. Even if she does tend to leave machinery all over the apartment. Sa only knows what it's for.

Oh a water ship. Shiny. I'm used to living on a ship in space myself. It talked? Like aloud? Cos Serenity used to talk to me but not in words like, just would let me know if something was wrong and stuff. Guess that sounds kinda silly though.

Well it's more of a flying thing than a sailing thing. But it is amazing. I've never been on a water ship before. There wasn't any need for them on my home planet cos it was kind of dry. But it actually talked aloud? Did the voice just come from the wood or something? Wait, you said figure head. So it was personlike and talked like a normal person?
