But I figure I should open the floor for questions again; I've been practically flooded with requests for changes in Babylon and slowly but surely we're getting there, guys.

Question: A man tortures and mutilates an innocent and gets mysteriously released a month later, no harm, no foul. Another man barely fucking grazes someone who was tarnishing his name, and he gets over a month, plus community service and government-sponsored bullshit guidance. How's that work out? I'm genuinely curious.

See, in the case of the first man, unreliable testimony and lack of knowledge about the nature of the alleged criminal's abilities resulted in the police being unable to make charges stick. Second man made the mistake of having plenty of witnesses to his criminal behaviour. That's why my team and I are working to implement the power registry, so that police have some way to discover and prosecute anyone who uses supernatural abilities for crime.

Actually, I care a lot about what the minority resistance has to say. If you want to write up your reasoning as to how you think the power registry is intrusive — according to current Babylonian law, it's not, for the record — and in what ways its risks and faults outweigh the security it will bring to the community, then I'd be happy to read it. Drop it off at my office some time. Just cut back on the cursing, kid, it makes your arguments look petty.
