I don't actually have much of import to say, which probably comes as a shock. Writing less than six paragraphs probably makes this unrecognisable. But I figure I should open the floor for questions again; I've been practically flooded with requests for changes in Babylon and slowly but surely we're getting there, guys.

I don't endorse random fighting, obviously, but I think the tournament sounds like a good way to remove stress and the tensions which are building up. Good luck to everyone entering.

I've been working overtime. We've got a good mountain of paperwork out of the way and can get right down to the people. Mostly double checking facts, getting expansions and clarifications. Right now our greatest concern is how to convince reluctant people who are still unregistered to assist us without infringing on their privacy; there may not be a true Constitution here, but I still have morals. Nevertheless, it's unfair to let anyone be excluded, especially if someone who slips through our fingers causes a repeat of a serious crime. Tricky stuff.

I can see why people would be discouraged by giving their information to the government. Many of us come from worlds where the government prevails, forcing people to give up private information and then using it against them. So I can't say that I blame them. How do you propose to deal with that, specifically?

There's not a lot. I'm considering asking in some of the more reluctant to discuss their fears, meet with some of my team, and review what we plan to do with the information and the security measures we've put in place to keep it from being distributed. I'm afraid all I can really do is ask people to trust me. Funny how if I'd been more underhanded about this I'd probably have a lot less resistance, but I guess that's just a job perk. That and my PA makes unbelievably good coffee.

Obviously there are more extreme measures. But I don't want to prosecute anyone as a criminal before they've even done anything, I saw Minority Report. It's still early days, if our database is ready except for certain names, then I may have to reluctantly do something more forceful. But the truth is I can't make people do what I want. Politics is about compromise.
